Invoice Notification Methods

SIGIS sends invoices for annual membership renewals via email at: 60 days prior to renewal, 30 days prior to renewal, on the due date, 30 days past due and 60 days past due. A reminder postcard is mailed 15 days prior to renewal; a paper invoice is mailed 30 days past the due date. SIGIS Help Desk will call when an account is 45 days past due.  It is important that contact information is kept up to date in order to receive the notifications.

Discounts/Fees:

Incentive for Early Payment: All members will receive a $25.00 renewal fee discount if the membership renewal fee is paid before the due date. Tier IV members must pay online by credit card to receive the discount. For those Tier I – III members paying by check, the check must be received before the renewal fee due date.

Reinstatement Fee: For all members, if receipt of the renewal membership fee is more than 65 days past the renewal due date, membership will be terminated. To reinstate a membership, a $50.00 reinstatement fee must be paid in addition to the standard applicable fee for the Membership Tier.

Non-Sufficient Funds Fee (NSF): A $25 fee will be charged for returned checks.

Payment Reprocessing Fee: A $25 fee will be charged for the reprocessing of payments.

Termination of a Merchant's Membership

If a merchant's membership is terminated the merchant will no longer be able to have FSA/HRA card transactions approved by plan administrators. If the Member is an IIAS-certified or 90% Rule-registered merchant and the SIGIS membership is 65 days past due, the merchant’s acquirer/merchant processor and payment card networks will be notified immediately.

Related FAQs

Membership termination will result in removal of the merchant’s name from the IIAS Merchant List or the 90% Registration list, depending upon what SIGIS process the merchant may have implemented. In addition, the Member will no longer have access to the SIGIS Members Area or the Eligible Products List. SIGIS will notify Visa, MasterCard and card issuers of the merchant’s suspension and the card issuers will decline FSA/HRA Card transactions at that merchant’s locations because the merchant no longer supports IRS requirements for FSA/HRA card acceptance.

If an active Member is terminated and wishes to become reinstated as a SIGIS Member, a Member must send a check with company name and contact information to SIGIS at:

SIGIS - Special Interest Group for IIAS Standards
111 Deerwood Rd. Suite 200
San Ramon, CA 94583 USA

Please remember to include an additional $50 for the membership reinstatement processing fee.

SIGIS offers a $25 discount for early payment of renewal fees.  To receive the discount:

  • Tier IV members must renew online, paying by credit card prior to the membership anniversary date. Please follow the instructions contained in the SIGIS 60- and 30-day pre-notice for payment. The credit will be provided automatically at time of payment.
  • Tier I to III may request the $25 credit when submitting their check to SIGIS. Important Note: Payment must be received by SIGIS before the membership due date. Please allow the appropriate time  to generate and mail the check. SIGIS does not accept post mark dates on envelopes. Payment via credit card online will take the deduction automatically.

For active Members of SIGIS:

Once a Member has paid their initial dues, resulting in activation of their Membership, the payment date will serve as the annual renewal date for yearly Membership fees. The Member will be notified via email 60 and 30 days prior to the renewal date that payment is due. It is the Member's responsibility to maintain correct contact information so that SIGIS can properly inform the Member of pending payment. Please pay particular attention to email addresses as email is the primary form of contact.

Members will be sent an electronic invoice for renewal fees at 60 days prior to renewal date. Tier 4 Members who pay via credit card before the renewal date will receive a $25 discount. Members will also receive a payment reminder 30 days prior to due date. Note: Paying early to receive the $25 discount will not change the renewal date for the following year.

If payment is not received, a collections notice at 30 days past due will be emailed.  At 60 days past the renewal due date, SIGIS Membership termination will occur.
