Membership Tiers & Fees

The membership qualifications, rights and responsibilities, and costs are described below for each membership tier.

Membership Level Options:
  • Merchants and Manufacturers have the option to choose membership in Tiers 1-4.
  • POS Vendors, Integrated Payment Providers, Gateways, Acquirer/Processors, Networks, Plan Administrators and Issuer Processors have the option to choose membership in Tiers 1-3.

Membership qualifications and rights that are consistent for Tiers 1-4 are as follows:

  • A commercial interest directly and materially affected by the purpose and work of the Corporation and agreement to abide by the requirements of the Governance Documents.
  • Willingness to support rules of Corporation as defined in the Bylaws, IPR Policy and other policies as established by the Board of Directors.

Tier IV

Access to all technical standards and products. Includes SIGIS certification and registration programs to process health benefit cards.

Financial Obligations

 

Annual Membership Fee: $100 due upon membership approval and annually thereafter in the month of membership anniversary. Required to be paid via credit card at the time that the Member's Application is submitted online.

Tier III

Includes Tier 4 benefits.

Leadership Benefits

Ability to name individuals to participate on working committees to develop health benefit standards, includes Technical, Eligible Product and Certification Committees.

Annual Membership Fee: $750 due upon membership approval and annually thereafter in the month of membership anniversary. Can be paid online or will be invoiced upon approval of Member’s Application and is due within 30 days.

Tier II

Ability to be nominated and elected by Tier 2 Members to the Board of Directors.

Initial Participation Fee: $5,000 one-time payment which can be paid online or will be invoiced upon approval of Member’s Application and is due within 30 days.

Annual Membership Fee: $3,750 due upon membership approval and annually thereafter in the month of membership anniversary. Can be paid online or will be invoiced upon approval of Member’s Application and is due within 30 days.

Tier I

Ability to appoint individuals to participate on the Board of Directors as Tier 1 Director.

Special Assessment: $125,000 as the Initial Special Assessment. See Bylaws Section 4.12 for provisions relative to Special Assessments. Initial Special Assessment is due within 5 business days of approval of Member's Application.

Initial Participation Fee: $10,000 one-time payment which will be invoiced upon approval of Member’s Application and is due within 30 days.

Annual Membership Fee: $7,500 due upon membership approval and annually thereafter in the month of membership anniversary. Will be invoiced upon approval of Member’s Application and is due within 30 days.
