Organizational Structure

SIGIS is led by the Board of Directors, composed of representatives from Tier 1 and Tier 2 Members. Directors bring a broad range of industry experience and include: retailers, benefit plan administrators, payment card issuer and merchant processors, financial institutions, and payment card associations.

Operational decisions are made by the Management Committee, whose members also come from a range of industry backgrounds and expertise.

Day-to-day activities are overseen by Jeff Beadle, SIGIS Executive Director, and carried out by professional staff members that work on behalf of SIGIS.

Committee participants are drawn from Tier 1 – Tier 3 Members and focus on these activities:

  • Programs for merchant certification and Member compliance are overseen by the Certification and Compliance Committee.
  • Eligible Product List Committee manages the SIGIS Eligible Product List and oversees the criteria to determine the eligibility of health care products.
  • Technical Committee provides oversight of the SIGIS IIAS Standard and the 90% Rule Merchant Self-Registration program.
